Default Kill Teams

Hi I've looked around the internet but i haven't really found out what a kill team is. Could you tell me. I want to know because i'm thining of starting the Struggle for Vor’Anoth campain with my freind. Thanx for all the help

a kill team is a small unit of crack commandos, baseically a 160 point squad of infantry with a bunch of limits on it.
Kill team missions are really fun if you dont have enough time for a normal one

Battlecraze:

Kill-Team is a great new format that was taken from various sources are rewritten and made concrete by GW in the 4th Edition rulebook. You can find all the rules on page 214 in the Rulebook.

They're a great way to get into virtually any army, but can be really fun for small games if volume-game-play is your thing. It's also a great way to really get creative and totally make a unique and elite force from a few models that you can have a blast with.

Mal has it pretty much down, but I cant remember if that was the thread that had the rules in it, Killteam is a unit of troopers from an army that must complete a mission vs overwhelming odds, its become very popular since it was incorporated into the back of the 4th ed. rulebook, it's a fav. of mine because of its black ops feel and the fun time you can have only having to worry about one squad.

you create the team from a non HQ unit choice to the rules of :

Immutable
Broken rule : 2 brute squads and 25pts for the boss.
#1 : one codex only
#2 : one wound, no vehicle models
#3 : no 2+ saves
#4 : one weapon at heavy or template only
#5 : no psykers
#6 : no model may have more than 40pts wargear
#7 : weapon upgrades may only be taken from the unit entry of the killteam
#8 : no bikes, jetbikes or grav platforms

Mutable
broken rule : 10pts for the boss and one more brute squad
#1 : must be from the same unit entry
#2 : killteams must obey all unit restrictions bar the minimum size
#3 : 5-12 models
#4 : no more than one model may have wargear options
#5 : no S7 or fire more than 2 shot weapon.

and then compete against the brute squads (3 troopers from the opponents army) to fulfill objectives like sabotage and assasinate, when you have your Idea for a KT please post it, I'll enjoy a new view ...... and ripping it to shreds

Actually I had some questions about the Kill Team games in the Struggle for Vor'Anoth campaign. In the kill team games it gives the brute player forces that he is not normally allowed to have. For example in Bash the Com Tower, the Tau player gets 5 groups of gun drones and 2 groups of Tau fire warriors. Were did the fire warriors come from since Tau players are normally only allowed fire warriors. In not understanding how the Kill Team rules work normally (on top of these additional changes) It made the Kill Team games not too fun I got my butt kicked in all three in the series. I would recommend that you modify the progression so each player gets a kill team game. So for example, ork track first you play Comflict at Shas'run Silo 8, then Marker Lights, then The Hunt is On. For the Tau Track I recommend you play The Ork Must Die, Bash the Com Towers, then VilJuah Outpost Rescue. That way during a line, one player isn't playing the Kill Team the entire time, giving both sides a little fun, and some potential benifits during the final game.

I've not played the campaign but it seems to me that the reason its laid out like that is that to be able to earn bonuses, one must do well in the KT games, what team did you take? maybe submit it to the guys in the ork board, and do Tau normally have FW or drones? I dont have my lap with me so I cant check but you wrote FW twice :P

Tau are only allowed Drones in Kill team.. for brutes i mean...

thats always confused me, I never play the brutes BTW, do the drones get 12" move? 6 and then 6? or just 6" like normal brutes?
