Default 4th Edition Vehicle Rules

i was readin this months white dwarf and it had a couple of pages on the new vehicle rules, here is a list of them.

. Ordnance can now be fired on the move, but you roll 2d6 and take the highest result for scatter distance.

. Ordnance templates have 1/2 strength for armour penatration if the central hole is not above the vehicle.

. Vehicles may fire one main weapon strength 7 or higher and any number of defensive weapons strength 6 or lower while moving up to 6. fast vehicles may do the same while moving 12

. weapons with AP 1 will always inflict a penatrating hit.

. weapons AP - will always inflict glancing hit.

the third rule bugs mr though, wont that rule cancel out the Tau Vehicle Multitracker?

any thoughts on these would be gratefull, and i will post the rest of them soon.

Not really cos with what u have said there tanks can only fire 1 strong weapon or several weak ones whereas if u equip a hammerhead with a multitracker u can fire a strong weapon and weak weapon.
I may be wrong cos i havent looked at that part of the codex plus may be gettin confused between normal multitrackers not vehicle ones.
So feel free to correct me if im wrong as i currently cant be bothered to go upstairs and check!

a vehicle mounted multi traacker alows a hammerhead to move 6 and fire all weapons or move 12 and fire one weapon it alows the vehicle to fire as if it were a fast vehicle.

Well there u go then, u've answered ur question. Other armies can only fire one strong weapon or more weak ones whereas tau with multitrackers can fire all of their weapons if they move 12".

And that is a major advantage...

How can you determine whether its the 4th ed or the 3.5 ed and so forth?

As far as i know there is no 3.5 that was not official...

the 4th edition stuff mentioned above is in white dwarf, the stuff about strong and weak weapons arent in the pdf..

and epc-Felix i think you mean the target lock, not the multitracker.. and yes it PARTIALLY cancels out target lock vehicle upgrade.. target lock - each weapon shoot at separate target etc.. the thing mentioned above means that each weapon can fire, but i guess its at the same target..
