Default Life expectancy..

I was reading some tau fluff and I was wondering... how old do our blue skins last? I mean does life expectancy differ with caste? Cause Aun'Va is ancient and everyone else is younger, with the exception of o"shovah (how old is he, exaclty?). Any thoughts?

Well in the old Codex it was about 40 years if I recall correctly. That's all up in the air at the moment though since GW screwed up the timeline for the new Codex.

Yeah, 40 years sounds about right. And as for Farsight, Shadowsun and the other major players...ignore them for their age ;D As far as I'm concerned, they're corpses animated in battlesuits. Long dead, but no one has pieced it together yet.

Still trying to figure out a way to explain Aun'Shi though...Fountain of Youth? Evidently Aun'Va didn't get any to drink...

Farsight is alive through unknown means. Possibly a chain of warriors, or life enhancing treatments...

I wouldn't be so quick to say 40, as in the Old codex it says Aun'Shi was about 40, which is pretty old for a Tau. Now this could be taken as old for someone who fought in as many battles as him, or it could mean just old for a Tau.

And Aun'Shi still isn't dead, but according to GW he has run off...to get Farsights elixer of life...to come back as an awesome character in the next Tau Codex ^_^

I think a Tau lifespan would be around 50-60 years old. Humans would be around 70-80 average.

As a rule of thumb, half whatever a Human would be.

Ie: a Human with access to good medical care, etc. could live to 100, so a well cared for Tau could live to 50.
