Default crisis team arming

in the codex, and rule book, and every other GW resource i've seen, the crisis suits in a team are all armed the same, or with only a slight differnce (like different support system). is there an advantage to this, or is it ok to just go arming your crisis suits all willy-nilly (to some extent)?

I like to arm my suits in very similar, if not the same, configuration. A squad that is trying to do too much will fail.

I agree, the redundancy in a squad will ensure that your team performs its purpose.

Arming your crisis suits differently usually results in them being very ineffective against any one particular target, which is a bad thing considering how expensive they can get. Usually the best way to build them is to figure out their role (like anit-GEQ, or anti-tank, etc.) then outfit them appropriately, and send them off to preform that role.

The only time I arm them differently is if one of them is taking an AFP. Then I do a Deathrain (TwLMP, TA) and a Thunderrain (TwLMP, AFP, HWMT). Other than that they are all the same.

so is this set up bad for my crisis team (weapons wise)?
shas'vre w/ burst cannon and CIB
shas'ui w/ burst cannon and fusion blaster
shas'ui w/ burst cannon and missle pod

i figured they would hunt down tanks, then mow down the infantry that hide behind those tanks (much like fish of fury tactic) or any infantry pinnend by the explosion.

i'd say you should get your crisis suits to do most of the tank hunting while the stealthies mow down the infantry. DEATH TO GUARDSMEN!!!!

Suits are most effective when having specialized configuration.
Mixing diffrent kind of suits in one team is just point waste , since they will do medicore against lets say GEQ and MEQ while you could fill one slot with anti MEQ suits and other with anti GEQ suits.
Now why burst cannons on your elites ?
We have huge saturation of pulse rounds all over our army list , suits are only our units that can take plasma rifles , missile pods (for me MP crisis is definition of tau).
