"Warp storms of unusual ferocity and length", Lucky break or devised plan

when i say devised plan, i of course do not mean devised by the tau who had just started playing with fire.

what if something, or someONE created these warp storms. who has enough psykic power to do something like this?

how bout Elderad Uthlaran who, in the old tau codex stated that he felt a strange protectiveness towards them and have been following their futures

or maybe and eldar god protected them and is shielding them from the warp as to avoid tainting them.

eith way, my conspiricy is that the eldar are helping the tau because they know they are dead and want to live on though a pure, untainted race like the eldar are trying to make themselves now.

these are just ramblings of a madman, not a prophet

My guess? Tzeench. Who else has that much power to start a warp storm, and keep it going for hundreds of years? With Tzeench, I'd assume he could do it on a whim. I also doubt Eldar would find time for something so trivial as another race's survival.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Thats along the lines of what i think. I think that the eldar understand that their impending doom is upon them and they protected the Tau to put another road block between many of teh 40k races and themselves.

I really hated the entire "strange protectiveness" talk from Eldrad. It just seemed so out of character.

This is Eldrad we're talking about. He wipes entire races off the face of the galaxy without even blinking an eye. (ie. the race of that alien bounty hunter from Inquisitor) To think that he would spend a good portion of his powers, which would weaken him considerably, to protect the Tau with a warp storm (and besides, he doesn't even have that much power) is a bit too unrealistic for me. When he says protect, I assume he means "I don't want them wiped off the face of this galaxy as bad as I want everybody else to be".

And there are no Eldar Gods remaining with still the amount of power to create a warp storm like that.

There's only really two beings in the current universe who can do this, Tzeentch, and the Emperor (for all the useless statis corpse talk, read up on the storm of the emperor's wrath) himself. It would make relatively more sense for Tzeentch to have done it.

Thats a strange option a chaos god that feeds of the desires of other races, which the Tau don't have, and a Emperor that says kill all aliens above all else.

I honestly think it's a lucky break, or as the Tau called it. "The Greater Good" ie, the better version of god :P
