Can anyone explain to me the difference between fasight armies and regular armies. I get that Farsight armies cant use kroot or vespids along with someothers, but what does the -1 mean? Are there any other special rules for Farsight Armies?

0-1 means you can only take one of that unit.
+1 means you have to take one of that unit.
There no other special rules apart fromthe fact that if there against Orks you gain the preferred enemy special rules, so if your not against Orcs you stll suck in CC.

all your squad leaders gain bonding knife too, but that's about it.

for me, its a diffy story. I put in like 40 hrs on my O'shova, so it's an extra incentive to use the faction.

Farsight armies rely on Crisis suits and Fire Warriors to get a job done. They don't have alot of heavy tanks like Hammerheads and they don't have alot of static units beyond Fire Warriors. Farsight armies don't have auxiliaries and don't rely on alot of support units like Pathfinders. They take the bread and butter of the Tau military, Fire Warriors and Crisis Suits.

The Farsight Armies can have the most high number of Crisis Suit on the field.

A run down on the Farsight army.

1. You must take Farsight.
2. Farsight can have a really big bodyguard .
3. You must take a 2nd XV8 HQ.
4. You must have at least 1 Firewarrior group.
5. You must have at least 1 Elite XV8 group.
6. Bonding knives are free IF a model has access to the armory.
7. No Ethereals, Kroot, or Vespids.
8. Their are several units restricted to 0-1, which means you can either have 0 of them or 1 of them.
9. They have the "preferred enemy" rule against orks.
