Default Good Shas'o combo

I am thinking of a new weapon combo for my commander:

Cyclic ion blaster-Infantry
Fusion Blaster- tanks
Command and Control Node- Special issue (Commanders r good with them)

plus mabey, if high point game then mabey some hard-wired systems

Is it good?

Well my number 1, no matter what, always, no brainer must have piece of advice for all commander battle suits is this:

If you have two weapons, take a hard-wired multi tracker. ALWAYS.

That being said I have a couple of questions

What sort of army do you run? Is it mechanized? Are there lots of footslogging fire warriors? Do you have lots of other battle suits? What are they equipped with?

I ask because the Command and Control node is only really good if you have lots of foot slogging units, in a mechanized army its a waste.

As for the fusion/CiB combo, I'm not a fan. The reason being is that Tau do well with specialized units. You make a unit that's REALLY GOOD at killing one thing and it always does that.

The problem with CIB/Fusion is that no matter what you're shooting at, one of your guns is wasted.

However, I propose a solution!

Solution 1
For the same point cost you could take a missile pod instead. Its long range means you can fire your early game shots at distant tanks without worrying about "wasting" the CIB. Once you're in close you'll get SEVEN anti infantry shots, all of which will punch through armour of 4+ or worse. Against anything but Space marines, chaos or necrons this is the best combo.

If however you're facing lots of heavy infantry, spend a few extra points and take a plasma rifle and CIB. At close range you get those seven shots, at further range you get only 6, but they'll do well enough at punching through 3+ and 2+ saves.

I'd put a HW multitracker, so you can shoot both weapons.
I never field a XV8 without one unless the weapon configuration don't need it.

I would say no. Most vehicles you are going to need the Fusion Blaster for are long-ranged. So your commander will need to be on your opponent's side of the table to use it. In this case, the Command and Control Node isn't going to be of any use.

uh the short ranged weapons and control nodes scream "conflicting", but im ok with the weapon out look if you really... REALLY wanna kill marines...
as the melta is cheaper than the plasma, its ok if you want to go cheap... but i still love having plasma/CIB for marine killing goodness... its tough to top...

Someone asked this configuration a long time ago, when I first joined. The problem I see with it is range, 18" maximum is far too close for my tastes.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?
