Default Jump and Deepstrike

OK, quick question. In deep strike rules it say a unit may not move or assault, but can shoot the turn it lands. Tau jet packs say that you may make a jump that does not assault during the assault phase. I'm pretty sure you can't, but can the battle suits jump away their first turn? They are not technically assaulting, and movement phase and the "disorientation" would be gone.

No, they can't. There's a FAQ that covers this.

"When a Tau Crisis Team enters the table via Deep Stike, can they move in the assault phase?"

"Tau models with jetpacks may not take their 6' Assault move if they Deep Strike."
