Default Auxiliaries

i am in a pickle. i need to know if i should use auxilaries against DH and SM. what advantages do they hold against them?

depends on the type.

kroot are good for providing the tau with the close combat skills they lack.they make a good barrier between things of more importance

humans (i find) are cheap, fairly effective either close or long range ,and if they die, its not the end of the world

oh yeah, i suggest you tool up the humans and use them as a wall between your fire warriors and your enemy

no, you only get bog standard guardsmen, I prefer kroot anyday, they are much better IMO as guard are inferior in the shooting range to FW (its only 4 well spent points) and they dont have a candle to kroot in most other respects, in fact, for 1pt more you get better characteristics across the board, and kroot get 4+ coversaves almost all the time as almost all area terrain gives a 4+ coversave.

really the only use is for the 6 man EMP team, everything else is better in kroot and FW obliterate them in the shooting match.

really if you like the fluff thats pretty much the only redeeming factor..... use them as kroot

Human aux. have a disadvantage against Imperial armies, they get to hit you aux. on 3+ in hth regardles of WS, so id go with Kroot.

kroot and only kroot IMO in a standard tau army, i can perhaps see the point of having ork fighter humans in a farsight army but barely seeing as they would cost the same as marines! People say that the best use is 6 man EMP teams, but with 5+ armour saves are they going to get anywhere near tank that cant be so easily popped anyway? with their resilience no, furthermore grenades in a 6 man team will do virtually nothing versus skimmers....i cant see how these guys would work at all to be honest...although id like to hear form someone who gets consistant results in a normal tau army with these guys.

The only use for auxs imo is to give them markerlights!
Thenplace em in a real nice position and ligth the torch and hear the railguns fire and smashing of tanks..

And if a Aux team is killed its nothing to cry about! Arfter all they are only puny humans

personaly I hate kroot the auxiliarie gue,vesa are better.each his own I allways say, my next project is a dumed down pulse rifle that the whole squad like a gue vesa rifle. its stupid to have laz rifles some origanality please. well u should see it on the conversion page soon.
