I'm thinking either, recasting to save plastic, or re-buffing. Converting to make them look new.

Or possibly selling them, as that would be "recycling" them to another person... although I'm not sure, so I can't say for sure.

Or, changing the gear around in the army to give them new purpose.

Well I have found they always come in handy down the road, ie. a gun breaks off, you want to change out guns or other equipment. You probably could sell them though cause extra stuff is always good.

You could always repaint them as stone or metal and use them as accents on terrain.

It depends. If it was a poor assembly job, just sell them off and get new. No amount of careful painting will cover up mangled or missing parts, and while repair is possible, the amount of time is nuts. Theres always someone around looking for a coupla FW too, they're pretty basic.

If they're fine, and you just want a different color scheme, by all means, repaint. In fact, if it was a proper(non globby) paint job, just paint over it.

Incidentally, metal models are much easier to strip than plastic...I generally suggest people not strip plastic models unless they're willing to deal with a lot of grief.
