Default Dedicated transports and Markerlights

I was just wondering:

If a squad of Firewarriors have a Devilfish, and you give this unit a markerlight hit when they pop out and fire on a marked unit, does the Devilfish benefit from the same markerlight hit too?

I believe it does as a dedicated transport. However, I may be wrong.

Of course. All units can benefit from all markerlights, except their own, unless it's networked markerlights.

No it doesn't. The transport is a separate unit from the Firewarriors that bought it. They are deployed at the same time and occupy the same slot on the FoC, but once deployed they are separate units. A single markerlight hit can be used to increase the BS of either the Firewarriors or the Devilfish, not both.

Tonka's right. They count as two separate units (which is why you get points for killing the devilfish and the team separately during VP calculations). Actually, the gun drones that by default come with the transport count as an ADDITIONAL, zero-value non-scoring unit, and according to the FAQ cannot use markerlight counters applied to the transport.

now this brings up another question. Could the drones still undeployed from a piranha squadron use markerlights?

Cheers!

Yes, and they would all count as a single unit, too. ;D

I know they're a single unit when deployed...but is it ever explicitly stated that they're a single unit when on board the piranhas?
