Default Bug or GEQ hunter Shas'vre...

I just had a thought of using the Airbursting Frag. Proj.:

A Crisis Shas'vre equipped with the AFP, Vectored retros, Stim injector, Irridium armour, and a flamer. This goes for 99 points. He would then be a Monat hunter of light "infantry", getting close to throw AFP:s on them and flame a little. If he gets charged by these light troops, he can hopefully vector out of there alive. An alternative would be a Shield instead of the flamer, and no Irridium, 95 points.

Thoughts?

i had that idea as well. besides the looks flamers and AFP work well almost regardless of the unit.

i would take the Irridium instead of the shild though. sure its not as mobel but if your going to keep it near close combat it works out in the end. the armor prevents the easy ap3 shots. a shild would just be there only for ap 2 and 1. but if you use it correctly you will be in CC every turn so just stay away from thoes power fists

i have taken out khorn with flamers and AFP's before. so doesnt have to by 5+ saves. it just helps

take a shas'vre with TL burst cannon and ABFP for 72 points

ARn't these all special issue? I thought each model could only have 1 SS system/weapon. Or maybe it's one per army? :-\

Its one SS item per army. Units can take multipule SS items but that same item can't be taken again on any unit.

I have done the same. Airfrag, tw flamers, and ejectionsystem. So far I have been impressed, the unit works well on guard.

Standard XV-8 with TL flamers and a missile pod will fill exactly the same role, but cost you a whopping 46 pts. At that price, screw quality, go for the quantity. Multiple twin linked flamers will eat any GEQ or bug swarm alive, and the missile pods give you some shots on the way there, too.

Well I prefer something cheaper and more reliable ;D

My Shas'Vre Ta'Es'Sha ->

Shas'Vre + AFP + TL BC + HW MT = 72 points

Lot of high str DAKKA that should hit and definitely wound and AP 5 usually insures 3 casualties. And of course the magnificent AFP - > just look at it its is wonderfull ;D, and all that is at range of 18' meaning that he is somewhat save from being chewed up in HtH ...

All this is cheap, and if u want two more dudes in his squad u can give him a knife too.

P.S. shasocastris -> Yep thats my fav config 'Hail Storm' ;D

And it dose it well.
Found it works best on a Shas'o, seeing as the BS is 5, almost all the shots will hit. But you never want to mount it with a airfrag, because the airfrag doesn't need BS and the Cyclic dose in order to work well. Also, the air frag works only on GE, while the Cyclic can be used to take out everything up to toughness 6, with the ap 1 rule making it very effective at that job.
