Hey there Super_Stealth:

Tidy list, but I think the only real issues might be your numbers in your squads and your placement of these squads. So let's take a little look

HQ:

Shas'el with the Missile Pod and Plasma Rifle with the multi-tracker is pure gold. Though, I think I might drop the shield generator for the points. And I would leave him by himself, as he has a good profile and can be an independent character, making him safer than other suits, to take more solid shots at armoured targets and the like. I'd save the 20 points and move on to more firewarriors in this case. Also, I wouldn't take a body guard on him quite yet. You don't have any crisis suits in your elites, so I would probably move these bodyguards there, so save some more points and still have the exact same thing on the field effectively.

Elites:

Full team of stealths, always a good thing
I'd put your two other crisis here, in seperate listings, so that they're not a team anymore. If you just take your Missile Pod and Plasma Rifle and Multi-tracker, you'll have formidible suits that can spread out some to get the best fire paths possible. They're also more survivable as a single round of shooting or combat, will not take out your entire group of suits in one turn. Seperating is good in the low suit count games.

Example:

HQ: Shas'el, Missile Pods, Plasma Rifle, Multi-tracker
Elite1: Stealths x 6
Elite2: XV8 Suits, Missile Pods, Plasma Rifle, Multi-tracker
Elite3: XV8 Suits, Missile Pods, Plasma Rifle, Multi-tracker

Troops:

Lots of Fish and Firewarriors are pretty much a good thing. The only problem is that you should try and fill these squads out a bit more. Try pushing them to that magical 12 number if possible. They're better in greater numbers. And don't forget your Shas'ui... they're extremely helpful to keep your Firewarriors ticking on the field.

Heavy Support:

Broadsides are excellent for tanks, as you know. I would however leave him a normal broadside, not a leader, and drop the shield generator. Instead, it might be better if you take a few gundrones on him to soak up the hardest hits (such as from a lascannon). Broadsides generally do not need multi-trackers as their railgun isn't generally used for the same things as their smart missiles are.

With the saved points, you could afford a fast attack selection of Gundrones or something else fun Good luck!

Edit:

By the way, I don't know what models you actually have, as you may not have a lot of things, which is why I left out quite a bit. So if you have any other models, it might be helpful to post what all you have as well. Otherwise, people will be suggesting you spend a lot of money which you may not be willing to do.

First off, I'd say:

HQ: Go with Shas'el. The extra 25 points for the 'o isn't worth it.
Drop the Bodyguard. That's 10 points or so and your leader is now an IC which is better.
110 points. w/ FK, Shield config.

Elites:
Add the BG here as a Crisis Suit - 65
6 man stealth team is great. 180
245

Troops:
Make it 2 12 man Devifish FW teams. Bond'em, Shas'ui them, Give the fish Decoys.
470

Heavy support
Hammerhead w/ RailGun, Burst Cannon, Decoy, MT
165

Total: 990 points. You can use the last 10 points to Bond the Stealth team if you like. I'd be more inclined to reduce Stealth to 5, drop the SG on the HQ and use those 10 points to buy another FK Monat, but this list is good.

Reasons:
The HH gives you mobile anti-tank. The BS is great (I'm not as anti-BS as some folks), since your entire army is mobile, your Heavy support should be as well. It does your FWs no good to FoF a squad and then find themselves being tank shocked because your BS is on the other side of the board trying to catch up. Filling out the FW increases their survivability and paying 85 point to move around 80 points of FW just isn't worth it in my opinion. 85 points to move around 140 makes a lot more sense.

With my modified list, you have Mobile troop killers in the FWs and Stealth team, Mobile anti-light armor/hard targets in the Monat/HQ and mobile death dealer in the HH. A wicked combo when using the Tau.

Cawshis has it pretty much right, I'd go with that.

Squads of 6 are optimal IMO, especially if they're not bonded, b/c with 5 you drop below 50% when they lose 3 after which it's bye-bye when they fail morale. With 6, the magic number is 4 and that means your unit potentially sticks around longer. If they're bonded this is a bit of a moot point although having 6 still means you don't test morale at -1 until you lose 4.

Good point.* For this particular list IMO, I think I'd rather try and squeeze in another Crisis Suit for the added flexibility on where power-units can be on the board, especially with the lack of AP/Anti-Tank weapons in the two FW teams.* With 2 Crisis, you can keep one near each FoF and ensure there is some heavy weaponry nearby.* It'd also free up the HH to do what it does best:* Destroying everything bigger than a breadbox.

I hadn't considered the morale check aspect though and now it has me worrying about my own Stealth team of 5 in my league 1k point list!* The problem hasn't come up yet, but it is definitely something to keep in mind.* Perhaps I can find 10 points somewhere for bonding....

but its 10 free points..... theres nothing better to use it on :P :.

another crisis would be lovely but the only way to get the points would be Dropping the Commander to fireknife, using the 10pts and dropping a stealth, leadig to the 5 man problem.

but using the commander as an escort suit should suffice, its a bit risky for an 85pt suit but its better than janking up the list.
