Default Visualising battlefield with a (graphic) program?

Do you know, fellow Tau, if there is any useful utility (program) in which the battlefield with units could be easily visualized and also measured?

Many programs have the measuring tool and espedially those vector ones would be good for this. So that you could draw icons for units (for instance their bases with icons on them, representing the unit) on a battlefield decorated with some terrain representations and you could them simulate a battle for yourself (of course without any dice rolls or resolutions, those you would have to make yourself 8) ) by moving the bases and measuring distances with the program-embedded measuring tool.

Do you know of such programs?

And subsequently, do you think that such a simulated battle would help you reach the Tau'va?
