Default XV81 Crisis Battlesuit

Hey, just a thought on Imperial Armour 3.

While reading the FAQs I noted a thing I left flyby while asking things to Khanris.

The XV81 is armed with a Smart missile system (h4).

So, he told me that being a heavy weapon, it would not be as usefull for a Crisis team or commander as they would loose their JSJ tactics for that matters.

So, If i don't remember correctly there's a new rule on the Empire codex (which while reading the FAQs i noted that the IA book was meant to meld with it)

AGSS: Advanced Gyro Stabilization System.

Would this upgrade allow the Crisis suit to return the usefullness of the JSJ tactics?

At the end it would be as cheaper as a Phiraña right?

I mean, moving 6", firing 4 str5 shots, plus 2 shots from another weapon, and then advancing another 6 for JSJ and reaching targets and capturing objectives almost as fast as the P, Is not it?

Or a markerlight....

That's pretty badass.

I have no idea what the Advanced Gyro Stabilization System does...

In the dex there is a rule called A.S.S, or Advanced Stabilization System, which allows you to move D6" and fire heavy weapons. It does NOT allow you a JSJ move.

Right. You are sort of left with the odd choice of being slow and purposeful and not using your jetpack move, or remaining stationary to fire the SMS and then using the Jetpack later. That's the problem with the Forge World suits have Heavy weapons.

Yup, actually have one of those suits, but ironically, don't have the rules, so it's just sitting in the box.

Realistically, I don't expect it to be as point effective as standard crisis suits, but Im a sucker for interesting looking models, and the idea of cranking out a stupid number of shots appeals to me.

That's the thing about the Forge World stuff: really cool, but you gotta buy another book just to find out what its stats are, and half the time, your opponent will whip out the "no non-GW models!" tourney rules 'cause they're too scared to face something new. At least, for the Tau it's that way. Bunch of cool little decorational pieces for the other armies (especially SMs).

Remember though that any of the forgeworld suits can be used to represent a standard XV8, for instance the model in question could be used to represent an XV8 with any twin-linked weapon system
