Just curious as to what armies people out there find they have a hard time against.
Obviously there are different tactics each army can employ that have a better or worse time vs Tau but in general what army out there makes you go "Damn I am facing ....."

Well voted Necrons, because one veil and that can be a hammerhead gone

Also that 6 = Glancing rule is probably the best weapon vs skimmers

Plus those Wraiths turbo boosting with a 3+ invul... necrons can be quite a handful

I'd say necron, we've got enough skimmer pop-ing weapons against eldar and other tau, enough cheap massed fire against guard, ork & tyranid infantry, we've got enough ap3 volume to defeat greyknights space marines & Sisters.

But by anymeans our ap3 is enough to bring down 50-some necrons that in fact equal 75, in the entire game, their weapons are brutal against anything tau, just becuse of the "Gauss rule"

Sadly orks are ridiculously easy to beat with mechtau. Static may have difficulties handling the hand-to-hand-situations, though.
I really hope for the new ork´dex, the one now is to weak....

I voted necs. Since I play mech, I hate that gauss-rifles. And I hate when my opponent packs 50 warriors in one list. Or 15 destroyers.

The dangerous part on necs is that they can handle tanks so well.

But Iron Warriors are a pain, too. A good static tau list can take them on, but mech will have serious troubles. Same for nidzillas.

Troop-heavy Necrons are about as hard as it will ever get for the Tau. The best way to kill them or blunt their effectiveness is in close combat, and we do not have that option.

All the Tau I've played have been static. I guess I've been lucky. But do see how Mech Tau could be a pain in my green butt. Those little Crisis Battlesuits can really harass anything they want... And Hammerheads? Not good for Orks...

I agree with you on the next codex. I'm really hoping for more looty options. Looted Hammerhead? Naturally it would lose its skimmer-ness and be mounted on a good set of tracks, but I think the Orks would lootem'.

Necron for sure. Their guns are nasty to both our skimmers and our troops. And don't forget their special teleporting abilities.

In addition, any force that have the same manervuerability or better than us poses a problem too. But these guys are secondary to the necron threat.

I'd have to say marines, partially because I've never played against necrons.
The sheer amount of lascannons/melta guns & assault marines my usual opponents field really hurts my hybrid list.

WHAT?!?!? You've gotta be joking, Walrus! Marines are the easiest to face, in my opinion. I've never lost a game to them [size=1pt]... to the best of my recollection...[/size]

Anyway, I've never won a game against Chaos. All those tricky little things they shove in you face get on my nerves, like randoly summoning a massive unit of deamons right in front of you. Plus, Necrons are pretty easy to kill if you know where to aim.
