Default two words that are important, yet not in lexicons...

first is Eldar, and then my other word is Necron. i have NEVER seen these in ANY tau lexicon or language database >. the closest i have ever seen to eldar is an attack by the eldar, which translates literally as "sword wind" :. Can't remember what the word is, but it's in the Lexicon article on the site.

i get really, really, really annoyed at this, so could anyone please calm me down and provide some suggestions? :-\ please?

It's El'dar (silly) and 'anomaly' for the Necrons. You could use 'Mont'ray' which is what we used during Medusa.
Look at my database- its just been updated

Both words came out during the Medusa campaign. Mont'ray was the commonly accepted term for Necrons and I believe at one point we called Eldar Ar'cea, but I'm not sure if it stuck...

Yes the Necrons are 'anomalies' However the term 'Mont'ray' can be used to describe them, I prefer anomaly personally.

What irks me more is that we don't have a Tau measurement of speed. Any advanced race would use speed and time to messure distance as it makes more sense then giving a distance. But anyhow, thats my pet annoyance with the Tau Lexicon (as well as all the other SI units which foiled my Base 8 planetary data scheme, oh well).

You could always make something up Genmotty

Tor'vas/Tor'leks/tor'ils being roughly equivalent to kilometres/metres/centimetres
Dec/Raik'or/Raik'an being equivalent to Hours/Minutes/Seconds

So Dec-Tor'vas or Raik'an-tor'leks OR Tor'Va'Decs & Tor'lek'ans OR even Va'Decs & Lek'ans for contracted forms

El'dar is indeed the Tau word for Eldar, as confirmed by Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. It doesn't sound all that stupid to me. I imagine they heard the word from the Gue'la and it just stuck before the Tau could come up with another "official" word for them. Like Ar'cea.

True I can make it up 'K'lius' is a better translation of km in Tau. But it does not aid the construction of the Tau speed units. 'K'lius' meaning 'time to cover the distance with standard speed' although not literally.

As d=sxt t which is the most important out of all the measurements when it comes to plotting a journey is d/s so Tor'vas/?

Because the three variables are interlinked a single Tor'vas will be the Raik'an at speed ? if the Tau take 'C' to be the standard speed (which they should being technologically advanced; ~3x10^8) However that is plainly false because then t would be 3x10^-8 with distance 1 Tor'vas. Seriously GW should have put much more effort with measurements.

d = s x t would be Tor'leks = Lek'ans x Raik'ans
and yes, GW should have put a lot more thought into the Tau number & measurement system.

and ~3 x 10^8 in base 8 would probably be ~4.3 x 8^14 (14 being base 8's 12)
