Default Question about Commander and Bodyguard.

Again Im new to Warhammer so dont blame me. First of all, Im using a comander w/ a frgmntashun Prjctr Is that good and should I use Bodyguards? If so, what guns should they have? And once im done with my basic army (at least 1500 pts) i thought about getting O'shovah. Should I? ???

Use the spell-check. >

The Airbursting Fragmentation Projector is sort of a waste of your commander's Ballistic Skill. It is a good weapon, but it is better used by an Elite Shas'vre.

I would never give your commander Bodyguards unless you are completely out of Elite Slots and need to cram in a few more suits. They take away his IC status and don't really offer anything that Elite Crisis Teams can not provide.

I would not use O'Shovah unless you are dedicated to building an Enclave list.

Personally I think the CIB weapon is better then the Fragmentation gun. Assault 5, 6 to wound is ap 1 is pretty nice. I often combine it with a plasma rifle (if facing Marines) or burst cannon (gives you 8 shots at BS 4 or 5)

I prefer to keep my tau commander free to move about, a body guard isn't bad but not really worth the points however if I am trying to squeeze more crisis suits in the army it is an easy way to get 2-4 more (you can take 2 HQ)

Crisis suits should take similar weapons that way you can designate their role. If taking the commander in the configuration of anti-infantry I would give them burst cannons and plasma rifles. That way you have AP 2 plasma and 3x Shot Strength 5 burst cannons.

Hope it helps

I agree. I use the CIB, a missile pod, a fusion blaster and a multi-tracker. This works well to get many wounds inflicted quickly (7chances to hit on 2+ and an auto-wound on 6), and I give the AFP to my crisis commander.

Negative. You can have three systems. HW sys dont count against that limit. You may only have one of a given SI system per army.

So yeah, trick out your commander, it's fun. =)

You are thinking about something in the Codex, right where it shows the battlesuit systems. It says you can have 2 weapons systems and 1 support system. on the GW FAQ it says to ignore that, and I heard the commanders get a fourth hardpoint.

No one gets a 4th Hardpoint.
