Yeah, I think it was a mistake or something. At least MTs are hard-wired.

Hahaha, commanders getting a 4th hardpoint. I wish, that would make my day. Sadly, I think that one was just wishful thinking. OK, here's the DL. Only ever ever ever give a bodyguard unit to your Shas'El, never your 'O, because he has better BS and is of more use to you as an Independent Character. The only reason that you may ever need to take a bodyguard, even on your ''El, is if you are going to use him as a Deepstriking tank hunter (FB's, targetting array, maybe TLFB's, possibly a shield generator and HW drone controller, whole shebang) The reasoning behind this is that if you are going to use your 'El as a tank hunter, most of the time you are going to deep strike him. Thus, your 'El's IC status is a moot point because most of the time he will be the closest unit to the enemy. (Unless you use drones as meatshields)
So a bodyguard would be a good idea because it gives you more shots which equals better chances of nuking that damned Leman Russ and leaving behind a 200 point pile of molten slag. If, IF you are going to do this though, you have to be EXTREMELY careful, because although you have a very efficient unit, it is also very expensive, and you WILL be shot at, so you must equip your suits in the right manner. I do this on my 'El, and it's excellent at taking out enemy armor. Of course, most would say to leave that to your piranha and Railheads or Broadswords, I prefer to have a backup plan. Always. And a backup plan for that one. Now on to the AFP. Your Shas'o is BS5. That's about as good as it gets. The AFP doesn't use BS to fire. Why waste it on a Shas'o when he could have a CIB and Plasma Rifle and some other goodies and just simply shred everything else short of tanks? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Use it on a suicide suit with a flamer(s) or your Deathrain's, if you really want to take it. It's really only useful against Guard or Orks or the equivalent. So thats that, sorryfor such a gigantically long post everybody.

I think you mean Shas'el, not Shas'vre. The former is the lower-level IC, the latter is the upgrade from Shas'ui, or the member of a commander's bodyguard, and not an IC by any means.

No problem. Before actually playing Tau, whenever I fought against them, I got confused as could be by all the "Shas'this" and "Shas'that". Much easier to get a grip on now that I use them!

I agree. I just write in tiny letters in the column about " stealth regular" or " Crisis leader", etc.
