Default Paper Tau Models

HI fellow warriors!

Does anyone of you have or know of a location where I could find paper models of Tau units?

If I do something inappropriate, pls stop me.
If not, pls help

Joe

Like those boardgame-stand ups?

Or do you mean schemes for making tau models out of thick papers?

Well, either way: There are easier ways to proxy and tau XVs and tanks are not likely to even POSSESS such schemes, due to the difficulty the round edges would set up.

I mean rather boardgame stand-ups, as paper 3d models would be difficult, I agree.

You could probably make them from the pictures in the online store. I can't recall ever having seen complete versions.

Why not scan the pictures in the Codex. Those look like they could do quite well.

If it's for a board game... why not use a normal Firewarrior?

I would guess that he wants to either proxy-experiment, or simply cant spare the $400US to buy 72 firewarriors.

(waaiiit.. lets not exaggerate! Let me force a little effort to compute the real numbers... 6 x 12 man units, + 12 honor guard= 7 boxed sets... at $35 each thats...)

OK... so its 'only' $245 US. But I'm pretty sure printer paper, internet access and some printer ink would still be a cheaper alternative. : The best way I could think of is to literally yank the images off off the GW online store catalog, and print them out. Seeing as how thats somewhat shady, maybe you should additionally make the effort to edit an official GW logo onto each reprinted piece...

Take a picture of a tank commander, and print that.

As a little experiment, I did what I recommended above, just to see how viable it was (and I guess to see how much of a nono this all is), and, after a good 20 minutes with humble windows paint, I came up with this:

The scale is probably off, as I believe this pic is a full sheet of paper when printed out, but with a little bit of simple tweaking, it would be very easy to print up a whole army like this... for playtesting and proxying purposes only, of course!!, then you simply cut them out and fold them over, add a paperclip to the base, and there ya go!! as a bonus they are in official 'Eavy Metal color schemes!!
