Default TX-42

Many people mention utilizing Tetras, but I've heard no mention of the TX-42. The model looks pretty sweet, but what is the general consensus as to its usefulness?

I'd suggest proxying it for a few games and letting us know how it goes! I'd love to hear your report.

Proxying it may be a bit of a problem because you need Imperial Armor 3: The Taros Campaign for the TX-42's rules.

Don't buy the very expensive Imperial Amour 3 to get the rules for the TX-42. You'll be really disappointed since its rules aren't in there!

Rules for it can be found for free here:

You can thank me now.

I proxyied one with Railrifles against my girlfriend in a (?)~750 pt battle.
By the end of the game she was really focusing on it because of its RR, the only real threat left for her carnifex. I was unimpressed. TL MP is probably a really good choice for armrament

FW models are a rare sight, and the TX-42 is realativly new. As Falstead said, it's not even in the Taros Campaign book (which is fairly new too). So it will be a while before we see anyone talking about it's effectiveness.

Color me skeptical. An open-topped, AV-11, one or two shot vehicle? For the cost of a small fire warrior team? Or a monat crisis--almost two? The only way I could see this vehicle being valuable is by swamping the opponent with vehicles. Otherwise it's going to crash and burn the first time something stronger than a bolter wanders in front of it.

I don't know the stats on the TX-42, but from that description, woulden't it be equivelent to a crisis suit then? (refering to cost and role) except it's faster, won't get stuck in hth, it's weapon is TL (right?), and its probalby better protected form light weapons fire?
