so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Yes, you can have armies with both Aun'Va and O'Shaserra as your HQ choices

Though, honestly, I wouldn`t recommend either. Maybe it`s just my dislike for using special characters in ordinary games (just how often exactly can Shadowsun die?!?!), but I can`t see the sense in fielding them (although there was this one nifty combo where you sacrificed Aun`Va and relied on the Leadership of Shadowsun to make your Tau army a CC-monster...).

A standard Shas`O (maybe accompanied by a Shas`el) should be enough to cope with every threat you could possibly face. With the right equipment, they can pop open TEQs, MEQs, and even Land Raiders with ease.

You have more room for customisation, as well.

The only special character I would field is O`Shova, and even then I wouldn`t field O`Shova, but a character of my own design who "counts as" O`Shovah (should be no problem in friendly games).

shadowsun is good for one - IMO

deep strike in as an IC next to other crisis suits that deep strike, lending them the Ld they need to stay put

how to:

use posish relay to first put shadowsun in, next turn she gets company in the form of suits...

shadowsun survives her first turn alone because of her drones - she takes potshots at ICs or armor with her fusion dakke - thats that

aun'va is the firebase lovestory, with everyone becoming stubborn. A combination of the two would be big FW firebase with some JSJ crisis, while shadowbum goes in behind and gets her dakka on with her buddies

You can't have both Aun'va and Shadowsun in the same army, unless playing with multiple FOC's, as you are forced to take a Crisis Suit commander as they are 1+

Shadowsun can`t deepstrike , at least according to new dex.

*nod* Besides, which, neither Shadowsun nor Aun'va have independent character status to protect them. They are pretty easy to pick out and blast with ordnance or a few well-placed heavy bolters flinging dakka down the board.

Only if you can target them. Independant characters can only be targeted by ranged weapons if they are the closest target, or if they are part of/near a unit (Near only applying to blast weaponry)
