Who thinks the Markerlight shouldn't be considered a heavy?

Or possibly only for troop consideration.

I find having the ML being a heavy kind of silly. I know it's supposed to represent staying still longer, but on battle suits they have stabilizers and better targeting I don't think this should be the case.
('course this could get me on the "if Tau have such advanced tech, why the crappy BS rant)

P.S. this may just be me wanting to be able to JSJ my XV84 with a markerlight ;D

I think its heavy more because in any other form it would be a little overpowered. However with a CS team, I don't think having just 3 marklights being able to JSJ would be too powerful. It would already be limited by high cost, and small squad size. But truly you can already get mobile marklights on the skyray. It's not that cheap, but it's a hell of a tough platform.

I used laser-guided equipment, while in the Army, and you can't move and fire it. You lay on a hillside, aim the laser, and wait until the target explodes. After that is when you move. I'm sure the Tau have better Tech than the US Army of today, but it would be too powerful to have all our markerlights mobile.

I think it should be heavy because you have to stay still a lomg time to use it (move+shooting). However, you should be able to use the jump packs afterwards, and it should be an option for XV-suits IMO.

As scout-fox said: think of it this way:
The markerlight carrier belly crawls or w/e into position and marks up the target. The problem is he doesn't know when any strikes are going to come, from seekers or w/e. So, should he move up, taking additional time to unlimber his 'light and possibly miss the target. Or should he unpack early, pick a juicy target visible from where he is, and track it until it's dead.

Yeah, the second way is better, and that's why (fluffwise anyway) 'lights are heavy.

I do. It would make things so much simpler.

I like the fact that it is heavy, but I would rather they did away with the distinction between Networked Markerlights and regular Markerlights.

I dunno. If the Markerlight wasn't heavy, it'd be seriously overpowered. F/W Shas'Ui with the right upgrade can already fire it in addition to his pulse rifle.
Though, as a note, Stealthsuits carying M/L can make an assault move.
