At my local hobby shop their is this kid who is a 'Chaos' Tau player. I'm new to 40 k and I got blown to bits by this 'Chaos' Tau player who makes it a point to kill all good Tau :'(. I can't find any guides for Tau vs. Tau. I have no idea how to fight him. Like I mentioned early he trashes all the Tau players so far. I need help on fighting him please help! Thanks,

what do you mean by chaos tau? does he combine the rules or does he just have a theme for his army?
tell him tau are nigh immune to chaos and haev virtualy no presence in the warp adn that his army is as backwards fluffwise at is game wise. then i suggest you kick his ass or he will taunt you mercilessly

Tau vs Tau is a difficult fight.

I'm going to take a guess here and say that this player is more interested in carnage and destruction than mission objectives. Am I right?

If so then the way to beat him is to outthink him. Get him to chase a lure unit. Hammerheads and Piranah's come to mind. And use the rest of your army to claim objectives and beat him on those. If he is as singleminded as I am thinking it shouldn't be that difficult.

Yes, its more of a theme than anything else. He likes blowing things up and made up the name for some campain some years ago and he plays mech/static Tau to a horendous effect(I play mech). He destroyed me in my 2nd battle, (it was 1,200 points) we were playing table quarter victory points betta. He had first turn and blew me away any way to help me?

Tau have weaknesses, know them and use them to your advantage for example
Kroot in cover-flamer
Crisis Suits- Seeker missiles
Hammerheads/Skyray- Railgun/fusion
Fire Warriors- CIB, Pulse fire
Anything that isnt a tank/kroot-Kroot
Devilfish-Missile Pod, Ion Cannon
Piranha-Pulse Fire
Broadsides- Plasma, Fusion, Railgun

missile pod crisis will devestate his FW
take out his hammerheads/broadsides asap
use seekers adn rail rifles to eliminate his suits

If you need to know what I have and what he has here we go.
He used
2 devilfish with f/w
2 hammerheads
2 battle suits with burst cannons and fusion blasters with 1 shield drone and a gun drone
1 shas with a fusion blaster and shield generator with 2 gun drones
1 team of 3 broadsides with 1 shield drone
I do not know his upgrades.
I have
2 devilfisf with f/w
2 hammerheads
1 shas'ui with a plasma rifle and fusion blaster
19 kroot and a shaper and a krootox +2 hounds
2 squads 3 stealth suits leaders with fusion blasters.

a buddy of mine plays a suit heavy list (only 6 suits so far, but hes gonna max them out) and i was able to eliminate his 6 suits with my 3, using 2 HQ suits fireknives (plasma rifle, missle pod) and my last was fusion plasma targeting array
for our skimmers, i really wouldnt advise railguns...
fight like your fighting eldar in that area...
ion cannons, and deathrains (twinlinked missle pods) are dead sexy
for firewarriors, drop a pie plate on him... submunitions are awsome on them, and stealths are pretty nifty

i also hear that kroot can rip the crap out of any firewarrior squad... if they can get close enough that is...
if he plays static, take out his big guns as fast as possiable... (three hammer heads with railguns comes to mind), then FOF his ass into oblivion...
mech... 3 ion cannon hammer heads... and crisis suits... a butt load
(i know this is kinda a deverse army list, and if you cant field such armies, due to lack of models... im sorry, i cant either, but my buddies let me proxy some stuff till i get 2,000 points... i dunno if this is a kinda guy that will let you proxy anything, but it dosent hurt to ask :-P)
