Default Help starting army

Alright, I'm new to the Greater Good, but know all the rules and stuff. I went to a local hobby shop and the guy working there said that if I were to start off, the first things I needed were:

-a battleforce
-a devilfish with or without the fire warriors

Is this good to start with? should I get anything else?

Yea, a battleforce box is definetely worth getting. also, try to get a good number of firewarrior and any troop choices you want, and then figure out the kind of army you waant to have.

I take it that U got the Codex. But all depends on the amount of money you have!

I myself spend about 50 Euros each month on warhammer.. This allows me to buy 2 squads/months so that my army grows at a proper rate!

I started of with the Battleforce as it really gives you all you need for start. Then perhaps another squad of fire warriors with the devilfish would fit the bill and that brings you up to a total cost of 75 UK .That is a good starton about 750-800pts dependiong on the equip U give your soldiers!

Then play a few games and see what your missing. Perhaps its some heavy firepower to take care of those nasty tanks or big bugs that seem to eat anthing you give em. Then perhaps a couple of XV88 or a hammerhead could do it.

Perhaps you need some more mobile power so another Xv8 or a small group of XV15 should really boost your army.

Buy several small amounts so that you dont get stucked with units you dont use or need!

After you do some research about starting Tau and how to put together an effective army list, post one on here for our judgements.

a good startto a new Tau army IMO is the battleforce and a HH and optional 'Fish. it gives you the mobility and power in a starting army.
