Hi, i made this topic because i myself am unsure about using the Gue'vesa and certaintly would not now if they are worth making, using etc. Out of interest anyone who has some (doubt many have) what bits did you use for em?

Well, they're failry easy to make. Just use cadians.

They can be useful, i think, but i dont use them myself. Nice alternative to Kroot.

I think i'd prefer a more Tau like appearance with Tau armour not just a differently painted cadian, but then thats going to cost me an extra 15 squid.

"...any Tau unit in an army led by O'Shovah may improve both their WS and I characteristics by 1, at a cost of +5 points per model."

- p50 Tau Codex

Basically, this means that only Tau can get the upgrade.* Drones can't, and Kroot can't either.* Using this same logic, it would be safe to say that Humans can also not get the upgrade.*

Wouldn't it be nice if they could, though?

Since Kroot can't take it, Human Auxilliaries can't take it. By Tau Unite they refer to it being an actual living, breathing Tau, not a Drone or anything like a Kroot.

well, even if the human auxilliaries can't benefit from something like ork hunters upgrade, they also won't be hurt by the price of failure rule either, like the kroot and drones, so that may be something to consider in battle plans etc.

so, considering that they're better than kroot overall and just a little more expensive, i'd

say a few Gue'vesa might be a handy alternative....

I've seen them made rather well out of some Catachans, with a few extra bits thrown in here and there. A set of Tau legs with the boots added, maybe a Tau arm or two with the pulse rifle. Not too bad. But then his army has a forest theme.

Though the suggested method in the book is make them out of Tau chests with the rest being Guard. But that costs, and we down under know about cost more than those in england. You buy the stuff there for 15 a box? Down here it's 45 if you're lucky. BUT we earn as many dollars a week as you earn pounds!

I think The Gue'veas are a nice little addition, they are all rounders with some of the gear of fire warriors with some of the Hth ability of the kroot.

Hunter out.
