Olny 2.
They came out in 01 then 06. How ever if you count the white dwarfs with the rules you have a lot more.

Tau are one of the relativly new races, just like the Necrons, who are still on thier first codex. IIRC, both came in during the 3rd eidition rules set. And to be honest, we're sort of lucky that we got the 2nd codex so soon. Caused quite a stir with Ork and Eldar fans how have to wait longer for thiers.

Actually, Necrons are much older - they date back to second edition, when they had no Codex available and only 3 units (Destroyers, warriors, immortals - oh, and Scarabs ;D). BTW, the old destroyers looked terrible... ;D

Actually, back in 2nd edition the Necrons were initially released with only 2 units - Warriors and Scarabs. The Immortals, Lords and Destroyers took a little longer to arrive. And the whole range looked horrible, not just the destroyers.

I remember those little guys! I fought some once, with my ancient space marine army, I got my ass kicked by some crappy little models, but it was good fun!
As for the codexs, there are only two as of yet, but there are a mass of extra rules in various White Dwarf Issues. Cheers, spacmarine2000 PS. please sought out your punctuation, it doesnt help when people cant read your posts.

Necrons are older than that.
They first appeared in Space Crusade as "Chaos Androids" So, when GW says they;re an incredibly ancient evil, they mean it ;-) |
