Default 1,000 point mobile army, sorta..

Ok, my very first shot at it, i play death guard and all that so i want to start a tau army just because the mobility and awesome basic weapons they have are sweet.

if i move 12 inches and get out i have 24 shots at 27 inches, which is better than boltguns entire range....

total, 997. i had to drop a multi tracker on a broadside so i can just get it in the 1,000 point limit.

41 models. of course my commanding team will go around and kill anything it sees, hopefully even terminators. either way it can still take out a good deal of guys with 12 shots. 9 for burst cannons and the three for plasma rifles, the mroe saves you gotta make, the more you will fail.

my devilfishes are there for mobility obviously and i dont plan to shoot with them so i will start my guys in the devil fishes and unload and fire, next turn get in them,and the next unload and fire. i know this is a basic list what everyone else has for mechanized, but i never even thought of that when i made it...

Not bad for a first attempt, so here goes...

Bodyguards are essentially no better than a normal squad so it may be worth removing them and having a Crisis Elite team instead...
some would also say Shas'o's are a waste of points and a Shas'el would be just as good (something for you to consider if you want to squeeze the points)...
Also in my opinnion 3 Devilfishes is abit much, maybe drop one...
Maybe removing the Broadsides and having a Hammerhead may be more use also..
Then you may have just enough points to put in a Stealth Team which are generally extremely effective...

Hope this helps...

You'll notice lots of may or maybes as really it depends on which units work for you on the battlefield so give it a shot an make modifications dependent on your findings...

Hmm... username is japanese but i cant seem to get it :P, my jap teacher would have a heartattack ;D

ok:

#1 : the shas'o doesnt really offer that much of a benefit to this points starved mecha list, down him to El and give him MP,PR,MT (fireknife)

#2 : bodyguards take away the valuable IC status from your El, make them a 3 man team of fireknifes so they can support your El and help him use the IC rule.

#3 : you have a mobile list and you take BS instead of a HH?, drop the BS and get a HH w/ RGun,BC,MT,DL


that probably comes out at a bit more than 1000 but if you can see the reasoning behind the alterations I'll get you a more exact list.

I am asumming this 27'" calculation comes from 12" move and 15" rapid fire? If so, you might like to know that rapid fire range for pulse rifles is still 12" not 15".

oh now thats just not fair at all, it should be half the max distance of the weapon..... that kinda sux...... they should change that...

there we go, exact and precise, youre generic Mecha-Tau list.

they dont change the RF distance because standard distance is easier to remember and more streamlined gaming is allowed for, which seems to eb their focus now.
