Making Smart Missle Systems

anyone know how to convert smart missle systems for say a devilfish, I don't have any of the nessisary gw pieces to do it and I really dont feel like buying all new hammerheads for those pieces.

You don't buy the devilfish models. Buy the skyray, as you get everything in it. I can also post you a link to a UK based bitz service, if the mods say its ok (advertising rules)

I bought mine from there for one of my fish - 1.20 for the bits I needed :)

Well, you have the two drones, correct?

Take 2 missile pods and basically glue them together. You don't have the arms on the side like the regular sms does, but this would work. Maybe cut off/sand off the tab that is used to put on the crisis suit so the missile pods go together well. Now you will have both of them together flush with e3ach other. Now seeing as the drones have 3 pins or tabs or w/e you want to call. 2 for the pulse carbines, and one to stick in the drone. Then there is the hole where you would put the flying base.

What I would do, is just drill a hole in between the two missile pods, and put a paperclip in there with green stuff and glue,a nd stick it in the hole where the flying base would go. I think this idea would be good, but thats me.

hmmm sounds like a novel idea I will have to try it out thanks for the input everyone. Bitz or coverting. I may try to convert em before I spend money on the bitz.

Unless you want to try something a bit crazy and cut off the drone cradles and add a smart missile system (made from two missile pods, if by some bizarre chance you have some spare) mounted on the turret.

But such a conversion would be far less favorable to you, because it would mean a few inches of effective SMS range less than when it's nose - mounted... And a few inches is quite a lot.

There's one way. Only requires 1 missle pod each side.

Hmm that looks easy enough. Thanks for the link.

The hammerhead weapon sprue is actually quite cheap to order and comes with al the bits needed to model a SMS onto a fish. Plus you'll get an extra railgun, ion cannon and burst cannon out of the deal
