Default Attachable wargear systems?

I've been wondering the Tau battlesuits&skimmers for some time. How do you guys handle the problem with those wargear options, if you want to change the system from game to game? I don't want to buy a new Commander every time I want to change a system, but I also can't make up any suitable solution to this problem... There has got to be a way...

Most people will use magnets on all of their parts, that allows them to switch back and forth from game to game.

There are also those that say the slots that the weaponry are supposed to fit into are tight enough that you could just switch them in and out from game to game.

Personally I fall into the third category. I don't switch any wargear/weapons ever. I decide what I want and how I want the model to look and leave it like that when I'm done.

...Blue Tac, man...

...Well I did use Blue Tac until I decided to start glue my commander XV8s, because I found I ended up using the same equipment each time...

I think there have been other topics like this before...search the old topics or go to hobby...

simple white glue for me doesnt fuse them together, and can come off with ease, i dont think metal will work though, havent tried that yet.

Rare Earth do a range of great magnets. You can buy them in lots of places, including on eBay, just search for the brand name.

Here's one site that you can look at to get an idea of what's on offer:

http://www.amazingmagnets.com/

I used tiny disc magnets. I bought a set of micro drill bits and a pin vice to use them in off ebay as well. It was quite cheap. I drilled little holes to fit the magnets into.

Be ever so careful not to put them the wrong way round. Once you have glued one magnet in place, use this as you master to make sure all the others go the same way the ones on the body of the suit have one pole facing out, the ones on the weapons have the other pole. But I just glued one into a weapon first, then used it to position the other magets onto the body. Then I used the ones on the body to make sure I got all the other weapons the right way round.

Best,
Gram

Although the magnets are probably the best idea; you could just say that the weapon isn't what is shown on the model. As long you have an army list with you, and you let your opponent check it so he(or in rare cases she) doesn't think your lying. But if you have the cash then magnets are the way to go, I'm gonna stick with my "Special CIB" though.

Off topic: Yugo you might wanna go ahead, and hit that edit button over there, might get some negative karma for that post.
