Default Tau Speeders.

Who remembrs the Racing bike game printed about 5 years

ago?
I have a friend who is trying to come up with a Tau speeder, faster than their

tanks.
Has anyone got any ideas about what such a vehicle would look like? Possible

ideas include a platform attached to four drones to act as grav lifters and engines, plus

support.

Proabably a Civillian Tau creation, not likely to be military.

For something that is dedicated to racing, how

about a cargo loader platform, something that has the power to lift stuff a fair distance

into the air, but if unloaded, will dart forward with some speed.

Ok here is my thourght's on the matter. First

any thing that goes fast has to be both airodynamic and powerfull. second Tau use jets

with thrust vectoring as there chosen power plants. usualy two large jets at the

rear with two smaller jets at the front to keet it from nose diving. so with this

in mind. You would have to model the smaller jets at the front. To do this I

would suggest a very narrow nose cone with the jets either side. so think F1 race car

nose, with jets instead of a wing. Next you would have the pilot probly reclined

with a viper style canopy. the for the rear jets there would probly be two mounted

side by side. Then to alow airflow and thrust vectoring they would have intakes

beside the pilot. So there you have it a description ofa tau racing bike.

nope. Those are a bit too big and bulky.

However, something the size of a Vyper using , say, an Ion Cannon as engine(s) maybe?

Why not have it like a hover bike. You could have the top

covered over with two jets joined together at the back. Where the fron wheel would be you

could place a weapon, maybe twin linked fusion blasters at the front, without any drones

or anything sticking out so it remains streamlined and aerodynamic. A bit like some

concept Tau art i saw when they were first being created; it was in an old white dwarf.

Big and bulky = power. In a racing anything, this is

good.

GW have already said that the tau do not have combat speeders, but they

do have recriational ones (eg racing bikes).

Why could you not have a recreational one converted into a

specialised war one - it would fit because the better Tau units are very mobile so it

would fit in great. Tell you what...i'm a bit of an artist so i could draw you any

idea you want and post it on the forum -
that way you can see what your idea would

look like if you tried to make it.

Coz GWsaid so :P. Narr If they had it, it would

almost certanly be converted for a scouting combat roll.

GW go back on many things - why do u think codexes have

been re-released, oh and another thing if he/she (dunno) want to create something it

doesn't matter what GW say does it? It would not be official! In the codex (Tau) it

say about Tau adapting, perhaps they decided they needed them!
