Default XV25 Stealth's suits with new wargear

Hi Everyone,
I recently picked up 12 XV25 stealth suits and am trying to figure out how to use them effectively.
I've used 6 XV15 stealth's in the past and mostly had them eaten
by termagants or Jetpack troops.
With the new codex wargear and a hardpoint I'm hoping to find a more
non-fodder role for them.

Here are some configurations I want to try.

1.BS 4
Give the entire team Targetting arrays so they hit like Space marines

2.Stealthy swarm
Give the entire team drone controllers and take 2 drones each
pro-cheap stealthy gun drones and pinning ability
cons-majority save is now 4+ and dealing with large squad

3.Markerteam
Give the teamleader in a minimal team (3) a markerlight and Drone controller
with 2 marker drones.
Pro- 3 marker lights protected by stealth field with some
firepower and can move 6" a turn.
Con- 155pts for 3 markers and must stand still in move phase

4.Ninja turtles
take a team of 3, give leader Iridium armor and drone controller with 2
shield drones.
pro- majority save is 2+ or can take 4+inv
cons-145 pts, small team limit and 1d6 assault move.

Any suggestions on other variants or tactics with these guys would be helpfull.

use them in even numbers with no upgrades. the ml drone restricts movement too much to be of use.

Hey Jebus,

Firstly the ninja turtle idea will (unfortunately) not work. The special issue gear is only available to Shas'vres or higher rank in XV-8 armour. If you look closely at the options for a stealth suit shas'vre he can't take it.

I've found a few things when using stealth suits they're most efficient either as XV-15s (gotta love the old metal models) or as "naked" XV-25's. A stealth suit is already expensive, but very good. Adding more points to them has never really payed off for me.

However my unit of 5 XV-15's has saved me on many occasions, and can have my opponent ripping out his hair in frustration as he tries to catch it.

I was trying to find that in the new codex.
I think I do remember you had to upgrade his shas'vre.
But didn't see anything about limitation to XV8's

Can you reference the page?

Page 35, Stealth suit entry, the paragraph titled "Character"
It mentions all the upgrades available to a Stealth suit team leader and stealth suit shas'vre. Nowhere in that paragraph does it say he has access to Special Issue wargear.

Read the Character Paragraph on Page 34, in the Crisis suit entry and it clearly says that the Crisis suit shas'vre (and not team leader) does get access to Special Issue.

So it doesn't say anywhere that Stealth suits/broadsides aren't allowed to take it, because it doesn't have to. You can only take SI stuff if it specifically says it in your entry.

Thanks Falstead,
it clearly says so in the codex. (had to wait till I got home from work)
I will never doubt you again.

Also thanks for the tactical info /guide: ForbiddenKnowledge the Knowledgable

In my original posts I said termagants I meant hornygaunts with their leaping and fleet of claw.
Every time I play against nids they rape my infantry.

anyways thanks for the advice and correcting my error.

I use my XV15's, now named "The Invisi-Lawnmower," to take out large groups of infantry. Six with Burst Cannons and Multi-Trackers, that's 36 shots. Hitting on a 4+ means 50% will hit. Wounding depends on the unit targeted, I usually use them against Guard, but Space Marines and heavy infantry in general can present a problem. So the effectiveness really depends on who you're up against, and for 210 points (which may seem like a lot, but I almost always play 2500+ points) it's a good deal.
