Default Pathfinders still used?

I can understand why pathfinders with their heavy weapons can only really be effective when static, which can limit the mobility of some armies. Myself i like to really go to town with these guys, i have 2 6 man squads, with 3 railrifles in each (one squads markerlights for the other). What are other peoples opinions on these tactics? the biggest problem is expense, is the pinpoint accuracy and no cover save from the marine killing RR really worth the hefty value, and static, and the fact that they are only T3 and 4+ save.... is it worth it, even agaisnt space marines where i find i struggle to kill them all esecially turbo boosting bikes and maxed out command squads :P....

mmm.... loving the models and the fluff.... not loving the effectiveness of the unit :-\.

need to be able to infiltrate and then IMO they will be good. the fish adds mobility which they wont use, either for ML or RR odds are thy wont use it, although it does become a useful charge screen it is 80 points that are not being used optimally.

so do you advise me to still use them agaisnt eldar and marines (chaos and black templar), my main opponents? would crisis suits be better purchases? a markerlighted railgun submunitions on a unit in cover about to ambush you is pretty valuable.....

hell no!, drop them for crisis anyday against those opponents, plasma kills faster than RR IMO. and you will never get pinning on enemies w/ that LD.

also forgive me because its late but raligun doesnt scatter so why would you ML it? (its really, really late)
