No, only the improved target lock from Shadowsun can do this.

All a target lock does is that the battle suit (not a single weapon from the Suit) can fire at a different target - with two weapons, if it is also equipped with a multiple target lock, or just one without it.

with target lock and multi tracker a battle suit can shoot two weapons at a target diffrent from the rest of the squad. For example you have two XV88 broadsides in a squad together if one has a Hard Wired target lock he can shoot his railguns at a diffrent target then the other XV88. If you have a multi tracker you can shoot two diffrent weapons in the same turn so if your battlesuit has a missile pod and a twin linked plasma rifle with Hard Wired multi tracker he can shoot both. Read the codex its all in there.

GAHHHHH
Hes talking about 1 guys shooting at 2 differnt squads. No you can not do this. If you have 2 guys with 1 target lock and 2 with muli you can fire both weapons and one of the guys can fire at a differnt squad.

Wind, that's not at all the question he asked. Re-read his question. The other posters have all given him the answer to the question he asked.

I'd always played it the other way until recently. A monat with a target lock ought to be able to fire seperately from itself.

Shadowsun's Advanced TL lets her shoot two weapons, that would otherwise need to be twin-linked, at different targets. .

Broadsides aren't so good if you have to fire the smart missiles at the same unit as the rail-guns. Makes one of their weapon systems completely redundant each turn, not much point in a multi-tracker for them unless target locks function for an individual's weapon systems.

A vehicle's target lock DOES behave this way.

So now I'm in two minds about it. Partly I think the answer is no, but there are reasons to play it as a yes.

However, the rule-safe answer is "no!"

Firing the rails and SMS at the same time? I thought that couldn't be done, as they're both Heavy.

Where did you pick that up? The multi-tracker entry simply says "two battlesuit weapon systems."

I beleive they can both be fired.
