[glow=red,2,300]Well, I always say the answer to this is to deploy stealth suits on the objective, come in with a unit of kroot backed up by a krootox, and leapfrog* a pair of units of fire warriors towards it, using path finders and vespids to outflank the enemy.[/glow]

[move]*One unit moves forward the other gives covering, then you alternate the two![/move]

Nice advice, but was the crazy text really necessary?

or you can use units in transports and your fast units (tanks, vespid, gun drones, crisis, stealth)

to jump quickly into territoy before the end of the game.

Or of course there's always the Piranha dash on the last turn of the game.

Taking objectives?

I haven't lost a carnage match in about a year. Why? because my ENTIRE ARMY can move onto the objective by the close of turn four, and generally it will do so in good condition. ('cause I'm a cowardly git) With tanks tank shocking the enemy off the objective, and overwhelming fire at whatever is still there, the tau generally can pull through in carnage.

Vespid are really useful, just hope for a good fleet roll.

Guys, really. Everyone should know about taking fast vehicles to objectives last turn. Space Marines have been doing it with Speeders before the Tau where even an idea.

Tau should never, let me repeat that, NEVER take objectives to the last part of the game. Why do you ask? Usually objectives are out in the open and we have a mostly 4+ armour save.

Pound the enemy with your fire and move units in during turn 5 and 6. Devilfish w/ troops and fast vehicles should do this. CS can jump in also.


NEVER, NEVER take the objectives early and NEVER take them vs Hand to Hand armies. Ie Khorne.

Take them turn 5 and 6.
