Default Tau inside Crisis suits.

How do Tau fit into their battlesuits? I'm not asking in terms of scale or size, but rather, of how they'd be positioned. Would they be huddled up in some sort of ball, sit in a chair, or actually put their legs and arms inside where the limbs are, sort of like power armor? I'm just curious, though I could put it to use in the future, with a conversion or such.

The chest opens and there's a litte cockpit area for the Tau to sit in. Needless to say, It's a bit cramped.

Real men fight in tanks!

Bah, they've got Lay-Z-Boys in there... really comfy, actually. Except for those rods that stick into your head and electrecute you when you try to hijack it... :-X

lol, Go Brains! Yeah it's basically just a comfortable Jump seat (its the foldable seats up by the cockpits of airplanes). I'm not so sure the rods are actually designed to kill you, b/c Tau have many implants and hard-wired systems, which i think the rods connect to. (Shoot me down if i'm wrong.)

They would be in a chair with a lot of wires sticking into them. According, the pilots use suits like how people use the Matrix. The suit is an estensive of themselves. So if they think to move their leg, the suit would move its leg. Also, like the Matix, if you die (or the suit's head gets ripped off), your brain convinces you that you're dead too...

The real conundrum is how the tau fit into the original XV-15's those things have sections whhihc are actually smaller than the equivilant part on a fire warrior. ???

I think the neural uplink is not quite as severe as the Matrix anology. I don't remember where I read it, but IIRC, the trauma from losing a Crisis limb is disoreinting but *usually* temporary.

I'd expect the Tau to build in safeguards to avoid having that neural feedback be fatal. That sensor array head seems pretty easy to knock off the crisis suit.

As far as the XV15 stealths go, I always expected them to be more like "power suits" and less like mini-Mechs. My take on it was that there's still a neural uplink to work sensors and suchlike, but XV15s seem less "piloted" than an XV8 might be.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

As for how the Tau fit into a XV-15? Easy. The Etherials make them. Either that, or Games Workshop has a bit of trouble scaling their models. Like, for example, the Rhino. I have no clue how a squad can fit in one (Tetris? Amputation?), but i'd rather not have that discussed for the risk of a flame war. Not to mention it's off topic.

As for the suit becoming an extension of a Tau, when they see, are they seeing through the little eye things on the suit's head? And would they be able to see things a normal Tau wouldn't? It'd be interesting if they'd be able to see into other spectra or such.
