Default A question for those in possession of the Taros Campaign book

when I was on fogeworld looking at the taros campaign contents, I noticed a sub-heading under Army Lists called Tau Auxiliaries. And I was wondering whether the Taros Campaign book contained an Auxiliary army list?, a complete army of gue'vesa? or something like that. Can someone tell me whether or not there is a list for fielding an entire army of Gue'vesa/auxiliaries in the Taros Campaign book.

the link is below in case anyone would like to see it for themselves.

I've got the book and I'll look into that. Just give me a day or two get the information (I'm just checking the forums right now).

I'm afraid that the Tau auxiliary forces in IA3 aren't a complete gue'vesa army list. They just consist of rules for two additional units to be taken as troops in a standard Tau army list. One of them is the chapter-approved gue'vesa team as described here. The other is a mining gang - a bunch of cheap, poorly-equipped miners, defending their stake on Taros. They do have a bit of close-combat punch, though, as they have the option of taking a single Ogryn. The book recommends using Necromunda miniatures to represent them: either Orlock, Van Saar, or Ash Waste Nomad models.

You can however take a regular IG army as an auxilary Tau force. GW suggested it here, 3rd one down:

Why does everyone keep quoting that as a good way of making a Gue'vesa army? The doctrine choices are stupid as hell.

I never said he had to use the doctrines, its simply a valid justification that it can be done. Whether you use the doctrines or not. Some people dont like the idea of making a gue'vesa IG army which is why I post the link. If you dont like doing it that way then dont. I have little knowledge of the Guard codex so cant say its just a link to the source of the information.

Oh yeah, no problems there. I'm just saying, if you're going to do a Tau IG force, don't do it like that if you actually want an army that makes some sense fluff wise and is able to win at least one game in twenty.

Well yea, we all know how well GW is at suggesting tactics for their own units. Heck anyone else seen the strategems they suggested for Tau for the cities of death? Master snipers was one. We dont have a single sniper weapon in the army. It was rather sad and amusing at the same time. But it is interesting to see what they do and dont do and what they suggest and dont suggest, it can give ideas as long as you always take it with a grain of salt.

For the modelling of the miners I'm planning on using Empire Militia and an Ogre Kingdom Ogre. They will also become part of my IG army (Conscripts and Orgyns) that has all my Gue'Vesa teams in it.
