Default Is the SMS twinlinked or what?

Just the other day, I battled anothe fellow tau. When He shoots his SMS, he have 3 hits out of 4. Then he suddenly take the hit that misses and reroll it. I ask him why and he say with exception of the burst cannon, he can reroll the hits of the SMS as it is twinlinked.

It that legal of what? I though that the SMS is a one hit weapon and not a TW weapon? ???

Please enlighten me on this.

The SMS isn't twin linked. It fires four shots. Which is a tad strange as the SMS has two sets of six missiles.............

It LOOKS twin - linked, but it isn't.

I do see how your opponent could have made that mistake though. The rulebook does say "twinlinked railgun and smart missile system". However, in all the Tau battles I've seen, the SMS has never been twin - linked.

Yep, unless it has twinlinked before it's name or it is specifically written it is not twin linked.

I always figured that since it is launching so much ammo, that it needs the extra space.

I hate kids (usually, these people are kids), who try to reroll to hit, and when I say it's not TL, they say "prove it". And usually, I don't have my codex with me.

In that case tell them to prove to you that it is twin linked. The rules are permissive, just because they dont say you cant do something doesnt mean you can. You can only do what the rules specifically say you can do. Its not a twin linked weapon because the codex doesnt say it isnt. Its not twin linked because the codex does not say that it is. Unless they can prove they can do something, they cant, and visa versa. I hate it when people tell me to prove they cant do something. It shows an ignorance for the rules that is highly annoying.
