Hello Everybody. Im thinking about starting a tau army. Me and my friends only play 700 point games (don't ask me why). The whole idea of the army is that its an elite bodyguard for the Etheral. It'll be fighting Eldar, Orks, Space Wolves, Necrons, Tyranids, and Witch Hunters. Anyway, here it goes....

HQ:

Etheral w/ close combat weapons

8 Honor Guard w/ Pulse Rifles
= 146 pts


Troops:

8 Firewarriors w/ pulse rifles
1 Shas'ui w/ pulse Rifle and Markerlight
Mounted in a devilfish w/ Smart Missles
= 200 Points

8 Firewarriors w/ pulse rifles
1 Shas'ui w/ pulse Rifle and Markerlight
Mounted in a devilfish w/ Smart Missles
= 200 Points

Heavy:

Hammerhead w/ Railgun, Smart Missles, and Target Lock
= 165

Total= 711 Points
Its a little over I know. If you have any ideas on how to cut it down please reply.

well 1st welcome too tau online ;D
you have to take a commander in your army so i would drop the ethereal and honour guard and replace it with a basic shas'el

First off welcome to TO.

Second this should have gone in the Army List section, no offence your new and didn't no that. Could a mod please move this.

Third for the 'el I would have a basic fireknife. With just the Plasma, Missle, and Multi tracker it's 87 points. Add on a TA for BS5 and it's 97.Thats cheaper than the Etheral and it's more effective.

Don't take the Markerlights on the fish suads because you don't want those squads to be static, ever espesially against combat armies. And if you drop the 'ui it'll be 200 points even on both squads saving you 40 points. and if you take a TA Fireknife shas'el you'll have 86 points. you can spend that on FW crisis, stealths, and BS's even. good luck in you games.

They can't delete them but they can be locked and disappear into the anals of TO. :P
