Default Quick AFP Question

Forgive me, but in order to fire the AFP I know you have to guess the range (Gxx"), but then for the final placement of the template do you have to roll the scatter dice? My friends and I couldn't figure it out.

You no longer "guess" the range, really.

You pick a target unit, and a specific model in that target unit. You place the hole of the blast marker on that specific model, and if it's farther than your maximum range (18-inches in the case of the AFP), then the shot is considered a "miss" not matter what.

If it's within range, then you roll the scatter die and 1d6.

They let go of the part where you say "I'm firing 13-inches in that direction" because it slowed the game down.

This can vary too. If the model you place the pie plate is out of line of sight, then you roll 2d6 and take the highest. This means, you CAN fire at units out of LOS with the AFP.

where does it say the AFP has indirect fire? is a general rule for all "geuss" weapons or what. id like to see a rule quoted.

They are covered under the rules for barrage weapons in the BGB, forget the exact page due to not having said book in front of me.
