Default Is this too much heavy support??

In a 2000pt army i will have:

1 hammerhead,railgun,burst cannon,target lock,decoy launchers
2 broadsides, smart missiles, railguns, shield generators, leader with hard wired target lock
2 broadsides, smart missiles, railguns, shield generators, leader with hard wired target lock

I just feel that thats a bit much heavy support...i make sure its always less than the troop cost but even then....i mean is that too many railguns that wont be done justice properly...? when playing with this heavy support section ive been very successful but would i still with less/different combination of heavy support...more less hammerheads/broadsides? please give me feedback, thanks!

I would say no but get a Hammerhead and kick one of your Broadsides,HH with multi-tracker is fairly fast and is less prone to attacks and i would say less change of bein blown from small-arm fire

In 2000pts, this is fine. Heck, I've seen more than this in 1,500!

That in no way is too much heavy support, the only thing for tau in a 2000pt match which is too much is 3 squads of 3 broadsides, which is bordering ridiculous.

Although it is better not to rely on Heavy Support with the tau and focus more on elite's as they are usually more effective...
so it depends how you look at it and how you play really...

Thanks for your comments...which would you say is better:

2 hammerheads with burst cannon railgun (1)(1 with ion cannon
3 broadsides

OR

2 squads of 2 broadsides
1 railgun hammerhead?

It depends if you want an army specialised against a certain enemy or just want one which can hold it's own against all. So in general i would say: -

2 hammerheads with burst cannon railgun (1)(1 with ion cannon
3 broadsides

Then it would have to be the first one as i previously said as FW's can take out Eldar along with the broadsides, whilst still having the hammerheads and crisis suits able enough to take out the Marines...

first one is definitely better as it is more flexible. i'll use two h-heads and 3 broadsides as well, and the b-sides are good for area denial and funnelling the enemy. h-heads are good at scratching those units in hard to reach locations

properly equipped, those h-heads are a real pain for you enemy to deal with. an all round good tank.
