Default Proper known Tau allies not concept art

Okay upon the amount of concept art ive seen for tau I thought I would check what race actually are known in the Tau Empire this is what I got.

Kroot, Vespid and Gue'vesa are already known

The Demiurg originate on the far Eastern Fringe of the Galaxy, and are less often found further within the Galaxy. They are an uncommon sight, being almost purely space-borne in their massive and majestic Commerce class vessels. There is little background available on the Demiurg, leaving their origins, intentions and any possible threat or opportunity they pose to the other races in the Galaxy unknown. The Demiurg are known to be organised into "Brotherhoods", though any further information on for instance the numbers, political structure, economic and military weight of a brotherhood is currently unknown, beyond the rumour that one Brotherhood is typically present upon a Bastion class ship and two to three on a Stronghold class.

The Demiurg are known to have an 'allied' relationship with the Tau, being noted as economic relations of the Tau Empire, and were initially introduced to the Tau via their mutual relations with the Kroot. From the Demiurg, the Tau acquired their knowledge of ion cannon technology, which is now heavily used by the Tau in their armies and fleets. Two brotherhoods of Demiurg, the Srry'Tok and Thurm, are known to have joined the Tau Empire.

The Demiurg have been mentioned as early as White Dwarf 262 (February 1999), but later came into greater perspective when resin Battlefleet Gothic ships and rules were released by Forge World, then later incorporated into the Tau fleet rules.

It is possible that the Demiurg are an attempt to reintroduce a race of 'space dwarves' to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a concept which has not been present since the Squats were removed from the game. However, it remains to be seen if Games Workshop will decide to transfer the Demiurg race to the main Warhammer 40,000 game, or whether they will be left as a background race and in the spin-off games such as Battlefleet Gothic. When Games Workshop were creating a new race for the Warhammer 40,000 universe, various concepts were put forward, including the Demiurg and the Tau. In the end, the Tau were chosen, with the Demiurg left as a background race.

There are clear similarities between the Demiurg and the Bentusi from the Homeworld series of games. This can be seen by the two races are both almost entirely spacebound, with no home planets, and that both the Bentusi and Demiurg also sell other races ion cannon technology. Furthermore, in the Tau language, the Demiurg are known as "Bentu'sin", which literally means 'wise-gifted ones'.

Tallerians are a fictional race in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Not much information can be found on them, but they are mentioned in Warhammer 40,000 Codex: Tau (Chambers, Haines and McNeill, 2001). According to some sources they are referred to as Tallerian Dog-Soldiers, are dog-like in stature but can walk on their hind legs, and have scaly/reptilian skin. They are said to use primitive weapons or high-tech weapons given to them by the Tau in exchange for them acting as mercenaries for them.

The Tallerian race are indeed dog like in appearance, but so far they only make war with the Imperium, as one of their worlds was declared Exterminatus and virus-bombed. They use bore weaponry of the same strength as an Imperial lasgun, but which utilises an unknown ore that has baffled the Adeptus Mechanicus for some time. If the Imperium were to find the ore then their forces would grow ever more deadly.

A small head picture of the Tallerian dog-soldiers is shown on page 116 of the 3rd edition Warhammer 40,000 rule book.

In the table-top wargame of Battlefleet Gothic, the Nicassar are a race allied with the Tau.

The Nicassar are driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore and travel. It was this which led a flotilla of Nicassar dhows into contact with the Tau, resulting in them becoming the first addition to the fledgling Tau Empire. They continue to serve the Greater Good by providing fleets to scout and explore.

Nicassar dhows are relatively small starfaring yachts, propelled primarily by their crew's telekinetic powers. Niccassar ships are primarily sleeper ships, the majority of the crew entering a state of hibernation as the flotilla (consisiting of multiple dhows docked together) drifts between stars, under the power of a few non-hibernating crew. Although poorly armed when they first encountered the Tau, the Nicassar's original weapons have been upgraded with Tau railgun batteries. The Tau Empire uses Nicassar dhows as escort vessels, towing them through the 'warp dives' used by the Tau fleet as interstellar propulsion.

Can anyone expand on this please I curruntly trying to make tau allie races up out o old bits and need infomation on stuff thank you

Where did you get that Tarrelian Bore Tech stuff from? Because I'm pretty sure I wrote that and it isn't official at all. :P

They also have the Galag [or it it Galg?], floating ball things with tentacles. The list of the known races that have allied with/are part of the Tau Empire has been covered before. I can't quite remember them all though it's been a while since I've gone over Tau fluff. Even Orks have faught for the Tau as Mercs.

There are probably at least 10 races in the Tau Empire and scores of races would have faught for them as mercs etc.
Brunettes and Beer.

Kill team has a short note on alien psychers by a door on Tau planet, and the bar fight scene has some races.
