Good question. I think Kill Master's right, also, I think that if they are put in the Tau codex, GW would feel like they had to make a model for it, and knowing lazy GW...

As said by "1shot1kill" their is no official model. Even though it would be easy to convert IG, I don't think GW would want to rely on that. Plus their not really an essential unit. IMO their quite useless unless you have them take a mad dash towards enemy tanks with EMP's. Their more of a fluff unit, to make your army more fluffy. I'd was planning to make some too, but now that their un-official, I don't really feel the urge to spend the time converting.

Having Human Auxilliaries in the new codex without a designated role in the army would defenitely make the IGgy players feel intruded apon.

They're great for meat shields. Saves a few more Kroot lives...

you can give them EMP grenades and make them cheap anti-vehicle troops.

I was greatly annoyed by this. While I dont use them I like the Gue'vesa unit for the most part. Its a great source for cheap markerlights, meat shields and of course EMP grenades. Nobody expects to lose a land raider to guardsmen... I mean really.

I think its mostly cause GW didnt think they were popular, hence no reason to put them in and make a model for them. I wish they had, if anything it would have simply increased the sale of cadians and catachans for conversions. Oh well. Yet anothe mistake in the long list GW has to its record.

Personally Id still use them even though they arent really official now. They can add some great fluff to your army. Heck its cool to field 4 entirely different races in one army.
