Default Question about battlesuit set up.

basically, im wondering if ihave my Commander suit as Fireknife with a TL missle pod and a hard wired multi tracker would that mean i could only shoot the plasma rifle and not the TLMP or shoot only the TLMP because its Twinlinked and counts as 2 weapons?

i dont think it being twin-linked has a bearing on the number of weapons you can shoot.
My understanding is that (and i have only started playing tau again so i dont know if there has been a change in this new edition) it will allow you to reroll as normal and so it counts as a single shooting weapon really. It would only really count as two weapons if they both were considered as seperate shots.

A twin-linked weapon is counted as one weapon for the purpose of useing a multi-tracker hence you can shoot both a TL-missle pod and the plasma

Albeit (personal preference) a commander is probably better off with a CIB because of his awesome BS so he can really get some damage done with it. Never been big on fireknife =\ Try it out. You might like it.

I think it is pointless giving a commander a twinlinked weapon. He's got an excellent BS. Try giving him a CIB and a PR. This means if he's within 18, he'll fire off 6 shots. Not bad!! ;D

spaghetioes, a commander has BS 5 if you take a shas'o meaning it is highly unlikely he'll miss in the first place so you may want to considermaking it a single weapon, take two of whatever they are then give him a support system, vectored retro thrusters are a new item with a high reputation.

Yep, you can fire both weapons (2 weapons of the same type count as 1 TL weapon).

Personally, I like the Burst cannon + CIB than the PR + CIB since it fires more shots and it's cheaper.

as I recall the CIB has the same GEQ, but better MEQ and pierces carapace also. It can't be used on vehicles but proves a better anti-infantry weapon.

Burst might be cheaper, but unless you're against a horde only (and even then, what about mega-armored-nobz and the such?) army, the plasma's more powerful and versatile. I'd rather CIB+Missile for # of shots... at least it gives you some vehicle-killing power, and range while you move into CIB range.
