Default Why do you like playing Tau ?

i just want to hear some of your reasons for using tau

for me i like they way they look that was the first thing that drawn me to them but once i learn how they work i liked them even better i have a death guard army and a dark eldar that i love but tau or my fav there the only army that need every other unit to support each other to win nothing can really go on it own every thing work so much better when you work together examples for me stealth's using pathfinders marklight backed up by FW which are backed up by DF and so on .
Tau wins 38 tie 2 lost 8

Death Guard win 13 tie 0 lost 2

dark eldar wins 5 tie 0 lost 1

It gives me a break from the constant evilness, and fragility of the Dark Eldar, (I can afford to make a mistake).

Shooty, and don't rush into melee when they have GUNS. Instead of bad guns with really powerful swords, they took the smart way and made.... better guns. wave that power-sword all you want, but at 200 meters, I'll be the one laughing.

I respect the orks though. Laziness and the slightly more 'choppa' style mean they aren't really for me, but you gotta love the greenskins.

A lot of the others are... meh. Everyone and their evil, usually spikier twins, constant witchunts, zealots everywhere, the disregard for life with attrition tactics, arrogance, xenocidal fetishes. Granted its probably spot-on for a "if the right-wingers made a galactic empire" as far as the imperium's concerned, but that just makes them even more fun to hate!

Shiny ships, shiny guns, and the fact that they also look good with a glosscoat.

And powered armor, to the order of carrying heavy weapons without a problem.

And they don't have that weird 'Respect the emperor or die, heretic!" problem.

They are also the closest to the light side of the warp in the entirity of 40K- next to the Eldar. It is the reason why I play both races.
If nothing else, the Kroot know how to throw a good party.

Fluffwise, they are the most idealistic, the fastest growing, technologically advanced, the most willing to accept others, an din my opinion, one of the most llikely races to eventually suceed in 40K. Also they don't blindly worship a corpse god to insane levels.

Gameplay wise, they are very mobile (MechTau), with the ability to concentrate firepower on key targets and confront a variety of enemies.

Plus they look cool. (hooves are awesome!)
I have been given the Fifth Freedom.

They are the only race that visibly practice enlightenment principles, and I LOVE me some Fire Warriors.

I like how they focus more on shooting than close combat assaulting. I never pictured futuristic battles to be so focused on close combat as it is in the 41st millennium.

I also feel that Tau require more tactics and planning due to their weakness in assault. I prefer the playstyle offered with the Tau, utilizing their mobile firebases specialized forces, and focused fire to kill the enemy. Tau don't really have many "Jack of all trades" units to through around.

Styleish, techy, easy to paint, great models and the Railgun.

because they look the best and they use modern tactics instead this WWI
"charge into hail of bullets and die and whoever miraculously does NOT get slaughtered go ahead and STAB the enemy" crap every other race seems to want to do.
