Default Sky Rays; Question

In this forum, I've heard ppl talk about Sky Rays being able to launch all missiles with a single markerlight hit. Eagerly anticipating this, when I finally laid my grubby mitts on the new Tau Empire codex, I found no such thing! Is this rule there? Am I not observant enough? Any answers?

1 markerlight = 1 seeker missile
6 markerlights = 6 seeker missiles

Before the update came out, there were rumours that the Skyray could launch multiple missiles off of a single hit. The original Forge World rules for the Skyray allow it to fire any number of missiles at an enemy aircraft with only a single Markerlight. But under the current version of the rules, Farseer Tanis has it.

Thanks. Pity, though; the skyray tactica on this site says so and it really encouraged me to take one; but otherwise it rather lacks appeal. Hmmm... looks like it's back to the good old railhead then

Yes. This could be what broke the Skyray, but it still has its uses.

the only reason i bought the skyray was for the extra bits at the same price of the rail-head also for looks but game wise i'll stick with the rail-head

The markerlight is a heavy weapon.

Vehicles ignore the heavy weapon restriction.

The Skyray has two independant networked markerlights.

With a multitracker on, the Skyray counts as a fast vehicle.

So even if you don't necissarily use it for the seeker missiles, I think the Skyray still has use found in it's markerlights- being that they are the only markerlights that can move and fire in the same turn.

If you consider the costs of what you're getting with a skyray, its ridiculously cheap. the networked markerlights and 6 seekers.. If you bought that as 2 marker drones and the seekers... its costing you 5 points for a hammerhead skimmer body (before secondaries and extra systems of course)

I'm not sure you can get that kind of value anywhere else... Not to mention the box has the full hammerhead, so you're best off buying a skyray to get all 3 tank models (ion, rail, skyray).

Unfortunately its a heavy support choice, and seekers can be installed on other vehicles which makes it a little redundant in my mind... but it would be a nice alternative, not to mention slightly cheaper, to, say, 2 sniper teams.
