Default SMS Clarification

Quick question, I use a SMS on my railhead, but I was wondering does each 6-missle-bank thingy count as a SMS, or is the whole thing just one system, giving you 4 shots total versus 8?

Common question, as the model is misleading. Both turrets combine to form one Smart Missile System, with four shots per turn.

Str 5 Ap 5 is very powerful. It takes three individual missiles to reach the power of a single pulse shot.

I'm saying that in the real world, a pulse of plasma is powerful enough to rip a man apart. It is one of those rediculously powerful things that, while gaming, you might not pick up on.

Therefore, since there are 12 missiles on the SMS model, you could assume that three anti-personel missiles = a pulse shot.

Wouldnīt that make SMS a single shoot weapon?

Missiles take a lot of space, maybe itīs one or two missiles (with multiple warheads) per shot, and enough to last for 6+ rounds of gaming.

Every weapon system in the game that is not limited in terms of firing is assumed to carry enough ammunition to fire every turn. At heavy 4, that's 24 shots for a 6 turn game, though games may last up to 9 turns in standard missions.

If each missile visible has another behind it, that would make 24 shots, conforming to the normal limit. As for those "random game length" missions... well, they reload. =p

see, there's this little goblin things that the earth caste rewired with hard wired stuff, and they are squished into the drone thing right above the smart missle pods.... when the pod runs out, it reaches over into the hammerhead via an internal hatch to grab another box of ammo and stick it into the pods again for continuous firing.

No, but I bet they have some kind of ammo chain going there, so they don't run out. That would be very un-Tauish of them to sun out of ammo in a battle. :P
