Default The Submunition Round

Hey guys,

I can't find anything on this, but basically, the Submunition shot fired by the HH is Str 6, and I was firing upon a Space Marine next to the Rhino. I assumed since it wasn't an ordanance weapon, it would be Str 6 no matter where it hit. The other persisted that it still counted as a ordenence. If I was right, that would mean the Rhino took a Str 6 on its frontal armour, and if he was right it would only be Str 3. So . . can anyone clear this up for me, that would be great.

It is not an ordnance weapon. Just treat it in the same way as you would treat a Frag missile.

Actually I'm pretty sure the rulebook mentions all blast weapons. Let me check...

Yes, it's kind of a dangling paragraph. Says nothing about weapon type at all, just "blast marker."

So it would be S3.

Actually, it wouldn't have worked like that at all.

When you fire a non-scattering blast template weapon, you following the following protocol:

1 - Roll to hit.
2 - Place template, with center hole over one model (the space marine in your case).
3 - Any models under the template take an automatic hit; partials are hit on a 4+.
4 - Roll to wound/etc.

However, extra rules concerning the rhino:

When firing a blast template weapon against a rhino, if the center hole is NOT over the hull of the vehicle, the strength is cut in half. (Page 65 for reference).

Therefore, the marine was hit. The rhino was hit by a "strength 3" hit (which did nothing, as 3 is impossible to roll high enough for penetration).

Hmm . . . Fluff wise, that makes no sense since it is a wave of fragmented Rail shot being flown at high velocity making each lil piece just as deadly as the other. ALSO, this shot hitting the Rhino should hit the rhino just as hard . . . Iono, thats just me. Heh, but thx guys.

i'm pretty sure that the central hole has to be over the armor, then it would be str.6, otherwise it's str.3

Wait can i just give a yes or no question if ur firing the subumition you just roll to hit like a 3+ instead of a scatter dice. Because i tried to tell a guy i was playing that was the right rule and he got wicked mad so i just let it go
