Default Another skimmer question...

Sorry if this one has been asked but i can't find it in my search.. my DF was hit by a venom cannon and the opponent roll was for immobilization...they said my devilfish was destroyed since it was a skimmer...i pointed out that it only moved 3 inches..and these guys said that it does'nt matter if it moved or not, a skimmer , once the roll is immoblization is destroyed...is that true...or was i hoodwinked by older (like gray haired) players... (by the way i still won the 2000 pt game against nids with only one DF and it's FW squad as casualties , and that did'nt suit well with these fellas)

Id say you got "hoodwinked"

the proper action would have been that the DF had landed, and counted as immobilised for the rest of the game. Only if you had moved more then 6" it would have crashed..

P. 67 in the rulebook, second part in the "immobilised" part!

Hmmmm...i thought so...it really is interesting to see some older players get sooo... overbearing to the young players... and try to cheat their way around...even becoming argumentative...thus taking the fun out of the game...don't you agree...thanks for the answer.

Old players or not, don't we all play this game to be able to feel young again? To be able to argue and bicker about who killed who...ahem...

This particular misunderstanding is more likely to occur with older players, as the rules for immobilized skimmers were changed in 4th edition. Some people may not have fully absorbed the change yet.

Here here about older players. I think you mean older as in playing since the game satrted rather than the age of the player. I am the latter, and older plaer, but I have played since 3rd edition.

Another note about your skimmer. With the decoy launcher, you can make them re-roll an "immobilized" result once, accepting the second roll.
