Default Tau conversion

i converted one of my kroot and put it in tau legs breastplate and sholderpad. is that a 4+ armor save or the normal kroot armor save??? ??? ??? ???

since kroots cant buy the fire warrior armor, it still counts as 6+

Convesions just change the look of a model... not most of its rules.

If you were willing to pay 10 extra points in a friendly game against me to use one 4+ armor save Kroot, I'd let you.

I suppose you could write up house rules for it, but no, there is no way to actually change its stats by modeling it differently. What you can do is use it to represent something else in the Tau army, although that would involve losing most of the Kroot's abilities.

like if you really wanted to you could count him as a Shas'ui or something in one of your squads, like Anghor prok only just a krooty dude

As an example, I use a mixture of Gue'Vesa and Fire Warriors in one of my Fire Warrior teams. This is purely for the sake of aesthetics and fluff. Rule-wise, it is identical to a normal Fire Warrior unit. This type of "counts-as" replacement is common and generally acceptable to most opponents, although you will want to make sure it is clear what is representing what.
